Howdy, just bought this DVD rewriter. Does it only cop DVD’s ? As I bought it as a burner but can’t seem to burn anything…I will keep troubleshooting, but please let me know if I am wasting my time……..:)

It turns out that the package is telling the truth, but it doesn’t explain in enough detail. The drive comes with a Y-shaped USB cable, and BOTH USB connections have to be plugged into the Mac for it to work. This may require purchasing a multi-port USB hub, but once you plug in BOTH USB connections, it should work as advertised.

The LG GP08 Lite box states that it is Mac compatible, but as far as I can tell, it is not. This is not someone buying the LG because they thought that it would work or because a sales person said it might. The bloody package itself lies.

the .dmg file on the CD should have the drivers for the drive?

Did you try looking for the .dmg file on the CD? DMG files are specifically made for Macs

I have this LG Slim external CD/DVD drive for about a year now. It’s working great….but now I’m getting unknown errors when I burn music on my iTunes. I hope the drive isn’t dying.

LG doesn’t make MAC compatible dvd (re)writers and it would be helpful if LG were up front about it and if articles like this were up front about this. Now many people buy LG products SUPPOSING it will work on their Mac’s, but they won’t. Sales people will make statements like: ‘I’m sure it will work’ because they can’t believe that it wouldn’t, but they simply do not know or are not telling the truth

My dvd player will not play. it was working fine yesterday and the day before but now it won’t play one of my movies. I’m pissed.

It’s a POS mostly all external DVD players have bugs and headaches f-ck netbooks and external players and get a real computer with the DVD player and burner built in.

I have this rewriter for over a year and a half. I have used it mainly to back up information and record dvd films. I usually record at half the speed for dvds (4x) and recently started having problems with the finished dvds. The process starts and finishes all right but when I play the dvds (mainly dvd player and laptop) they always have some bumps and I cannot see a film properly. I hope there is any solution for this inconvenience.
