Just to make sure it was properly installed. If it used to be not that slow when you bought and installed it, I suggest you <a href="http://www.cha2e.com/2007/07/19/adobe-cs3-responding-slowly-opening-new-window-opening-image-of-any-type-or-size/" rel="nofollow">check this out</a>. Make sure that there are no unnecessary processes running (or too many items in the taskbar) which can slow down the laptop itself. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and check the Processes Tab to see if any are hogging the Memory or CPU usage. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing adobe photoshop?
