How to Use Super Video Converter
Super Video Converter is one of the best free converters available today. It supports multiple video formats (even unpopular ones) and is very flexible.
We’ve been using Super Video Converter for quite some time now as it supports multiple video formats and its conversion options are very flexible. You can convert from almost any kind video format, and then convert it to another format with a different aspect ratio, video bitrate, aspect size, etc.
We now have quite a few tutorials on how to convert videos on various gadgets (i.e. mobile phones) in TechieChips. As we use Super Video Converter in almost all of them, I decided that it’s time to make a general tutorial on how to use Super Video Converter so that I don’t repeat them on every video conversion article I make.
In the middle of this article you’ll also see a list of all the video conversion guides I’ve made. You can always check this page if I’ve made one for your gadget (I’d be happier if you subscribe to the feed or email updates!). If not, you can always use the contact form (not the comments area please!) and ask me to make one for you!
Download and Install Super Video Converter
You could download the latest Super Video Converter in their official website eRightSoft. However it’s very hard to find the download link at their official website as it’s buried several pages deep. I’ve provided the download link for the latest Super Video Converter below. I’ve also included previous versions of the converter as some people are having a hard time converting with the new one.
Latest Version:
Super Video Converter (build 46 – Feb 12, 2011)
Previous Versions:
Super Video Converter (build 37 – Jan 2, 2010)
Super Video Converter (build 36 – June 10, 2009)
Super Video Converter (build 35 – Jan 5, 2009)
Super Video Converter (build 33 – Sep 2, 2008)
Super Video Converter comes with an automatic upgrade. I however suggest that you fully uninstall any previous versions of Super first and then install the latest version.
Using Super Video Converter
The guide below is for the latest Super Video Converter. Previous versions may be a little different but the basics remain the same.
1. Launch Super Video Converter
Once it’s successfully installed, just double-click the shortcut icon at your desktop and then this is what you should see.

If you don’t see a similar screen when you launch Super, make sure the first option at the upper-left corner of the screen is selected – as seen in the screenshot below.

2. Select the Video You Want to Convert
Drag the video file you would want to convert, on the area where it says “DROP A VALID MULTIMEDIA FILE HERE”.

Once you’ve successfully dragged the file you want to convert to Super, it should be listed and have a checkmark beside it like the one below:

3. Indicate the Conversion Settings
This is where you enter the conversion settings for your gadget (mobile phone, video player, etc.). Below is a list of all the video conversion guides I’ve made which uses Super Video Converter.
Convert Movies and Videos for the Nokia N97 and N97 Mini
Convert Movies and Videos for the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic
Convert Movies and Videos for your Samsung Omnia
Convert Movies and Videos for your Nokia E75
Convert Videos and Movies for your Sony Ericsson G705
Convert Any Video or Movie file for DVD Players
Convert Videos and Movies for your Nokia E90
Convert Movies and Videos for your Nokia E66
Convert Movies and Videos for your Nokia E63
Convert Movies and Videos for your Nokia 5800
Convert Movies / Videos for your Sony Ericsson P1i
Convert Movies and Video Files for your Nokia E71 / E61 / E61i
5. Encode /Convert your Video or Movie
Click Encode (Active Files) which is located at the bottom, and just wait for your file to be encoded. The longer the video or the movie is, the longer the encoding process.

Note: If you have the latest Super Video Converter, it would save the converted video in the same folder where the source video is. However, if you’re using Super Video Converter build 35 and lower, you need to set the folder where the converted videos are. You can do this by pressing Ctrl+T or by right-clicking any part of Super and choosing Output File Management. The default location where it saves converted videos is “C:\Program Files\eRightSoft\Super\OutPut”
Also while converting, Super displays a green bar to show the progress of conversion.
![]()
Sometimes it goes full and then resets back to empty (especially on large files). You might think that there’s something wrong with the conversion but there really isn’t. Just let it convert until it’s finished.
Easy isn’t it? If you have any questions on how to use Super Video Converter don’t hesitate to ask – you can do so in the comments section below.

Heyas, I’ve been trying to figure out the right combination of options to mimic the quality and size mkv files I find on the net. Many of the digital copies I try to make are just too big to play smoothly. The options are limited for audio so it’s easy to set it, but the video options are so confusing. What settings can I use to effectively shrink the file size without compromising quality by too much?
Is it possible to convert a MKV bluray file so I can put it on a USB and play it on Bluray player? I just started one and it has been running for over an hour and it doesn’t show any progress. I know it’s an 8gb file so it’ll take a long time but not sure if that is the only problem as this is the first time I have tried SUPER.
Thanks,
Jim
Is it compatible with mac; if not then where to get the mac version?
Hello. I’m using the latest SUPER available but I really could not see where my files go, at first I thought it was on the same folder as the original file but there wasn’t any file got converted but in SUPER it says “done”
Good day
I so impressed by using Super for my Nokia E75,
I need some assistance in converting file with cda format to Mp3 are able to assist me.
Regards
Zubair
I would like to be a subcriber on your site
Awesome website! Solved my problem in a jiff!
Its just awesome…………..
I’ve done clean installs (complete uninstalls, registry deletion through CCleaner, and restarts) with the latest build and I can’t get SUPER to work at all.
Even changing options like Stay On Top, Show Hints, or Play Sound aren’t remembered if I were to shutdown and restart SUPER
Exporting “Settings Profile” doesn’t even work
Anytime I try to convert a file, it recognizes, undergoes the parsing, output bar, and output status but the file doesn’t appear at all in the directory as the original, the eRight Super output folder, or any custom folders I designate for conversion.
Super used to work for me and even older versions (B42)I’ve saved won’t work on basis of obsolescence alone (Browser pops up telling me I’m using an old version and SUPER doesn’t start).
Now it’s just trying my patience
Hi, I’m trying to convert m2ts(AVCHD) files to WMV, but my converted files have have no audio. I’m sure that my input files have audio though, and that I didn’t accidentally check ‘disable audio’. Can someone tell me if they are experiencing the same problem?
I don’t think it’s necessary to list my video setting since there’s nothing wrong with the video, but here are the audio settings:
Output Audio Codec – wma3
Sampling Freq – 48000
Channels – 2
Bitrate kbps 256
DVD Language select – default
Try using another kind of audio codec other than wma3. Hope that solves the problem.
Hello,
Can you tell me what is the super c “set up” for converting a flv file into a file that can be edited in Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 7.

Hi Ige,
I am trying to convert a SWF file (50kb) to GIF (for making Avatas) using Super (Build 49, July 1st, 2011) on Windows Vista, but it seems to be in an endless loop after I have clicked on Encode. What could be the issue? Thanks.
Anyone know if SUPER can rip straight from DVD?
Unfortunately no. You have to encode it first in Super and then rip it to a DVD – Convert Any Video or Movie file for DVD Players
why is it that everytime i convert an hour long video, the output is only a minute long mpg. im converting from dat to mpg. im hopeless. kindly give me a reply asap.
Anyone know how to nux audio and video with Super c
I am using SUPER for the first time and am following your instructions for making a DVD.
I have 32bit Win7, 4 GB RAM, 2.33 GHz processor.
I get an error message that says Super has detected some abnormal error that could be due to:
Severe lockup due to extensive anti-Vir scanning
Slow CPU or main system bus
Very low available RAM
Incompatibility issue with your 7even OS.
I disable the anti-virus, but that did not help.
Can you educate me as to what the problem may be and what I should do about it?
Thanks.
Tom
It’s too big for my screen. The bottom controls that convert are unreachable. Sliding box all the way up isn’t enough. They made no way to resize box. Very frustrated.
My SUPER wont exceed 2400 kbps when I’m convert an Avi. file to an MP4 file. Can anyone give me some tips ore suggestions. Thanks
