Sometimes (although very rare) there are original headphones which do not have warranties but I haven't encountered a headphone which have discrepancies on the lettering of the website.

I guess if you're enjoying great sound then you have nothing to worry about.

i just bought a new pair of headphones... the hpm-70... according to this everything is legit except the website and warranty. According to the other post about disadvantages of fakes, none of those stuff apply to my headphones. I have tried calling and it is good quality... also the music quality is great. When i checked the ACTUAL headphones for the signs of fake it seemed to be all real. So the only thing that makes my headphones fake is there is that the website is wrong and there is no warranty..... so im not quite sure if it is real of fake... please let me know soon :)

Hmmm.. that depends. If you want to be absolutely sure you can just go to a store. That way you can check the products before buying.

I bought a pair of HPM-70's before I learned about fakes. It came in package with the very same quirks as in your "fake" pictures. However, if my pair is fake, the Chinese are getting very good at it. My pair as none of the problems you mentioned in your other article. Of course, it's always a crap shoot when buying fakes. Even if they are good, who knows how reliable they will be. Fit is tight, sound quality is not as rich as my Sennheiser CX-300's but very good nevertheless. The mic is a little scratchier than my phone's built in mic but very audible.

Thank you for the comment radu.

But the headphones always come with the packaging. And it's only natural that you can't check the headphones but you can check the packaging as you can't open the packaging unless you buy it. Other fake products are also detected this way as you can't check the real merchandise before you buy.

If you want to check the difference in the headphones? Open it (which means you've bought it already. :D ) and then check the quality of the sound. That will be the DIFFERENCE.

@Mae: You certainly won't be able to tell from the single picture posted on the link you have provided. Even if he has posted more pictures, a seller can always post a picture of a genuine item and send you a fake one.

The seller's price is way too low for an original headset. I bought a fake one for almost double that price (about 6 GBP). If you still want to buy from ebay, ask actual pictures from the seller of the item in its original packaging. That way you can use this article to validate its authenticity. Ask if it has SE warranty as well. By the way, I also ask for actual pics before I buy, and they usually give one to me.

We can't blame the sellers always as they might not be aware that what they are selling are fake ones. Fake headsets look so real that they can really pass as original.

If all else fails buy from an actual store. An original headset is always worth the price.
