i have played with some settings, lo man !!! i have been hooked to the mobile phones’ multimedia capabilities.

hello,
I converted few (.wmv) songs and worked good for my Nokia-5800.. but when I tried to convert few movies( .avi) after 1-2 hrs of conversion every time it reported an error..few description of the files i tried on
Bit rate- 112kbps
dimension-564X300
plz help…..

hi. Still no joy. I convertered the same small sized .avi video file several times with various audio formats but to no avail. Then, using toast 9 titanium I changed the same .avi file to .mpg and used your mpeg streamclip software with your suggested settings and convertered the file again (as .mpg) and the audio was fine.

I then decided to try something different and convert the original .avi file using toast 9 titanium but with your settings. The .avi file convertered without a hitch and the audio was great. This will suffice for me now so thanks for the settings. The only downside to this is that I would prefer to convert the files with your mpeg streamclip software as for some reason it condenses the files to a smaller size than it does with toast thus giving me more room on my memory card in the phone.

That’s really weird as I’ve just successfully converted an avi file. Maybe you could change the Audio format? Try converting small videos first so that conversion wouldn’t take as long. I’ll try to help as much as I can.

Right, just converted a .mpg file and the audio was fine. I then tried another .avi file with the same settings and no audio. any ideas?

FYI the audio settings as loaded are:

Audio Format: AAC-LC (Music)
Data Rate: 128 kbps
Channels: Stereo
Output Sample Rate: 44.100 kHz
Encoding Quality: Better

Yeah, they were all .avi files I tried to convert. Does the converter allow .avi files to convert properly, ie with sound? I will try some other video files to see if I have some success. I also checked the audio options with the converter and can’t seem to find anything out of the ordinary so I thought it best not to tinker with the sound options – they are as they were when I first loaded it.

Anyway, will let you know how I get on with some other video files…

Hi there,

fantastic tutorial, thanks, but I have followed the above to the letter and have tried to convert about 3 or 4 movies now but each one has no sound when I play them. The picture is absolutely perfect but, alas, no audio at all. Any help would be great.
